We have developed the world's first radio GPS trackers for ski resorts. With updates every 10 seconds and daily replays we cover areas of the hill cellphones cannot giving parents and friends peace of mind on the hill.
11 years ago my son was lost during a lesson at my local ski resort. The experience was awful, riding the chairlift, scanning the trees, wondering if he was lost, hurt, scared, or worse. It turns out he just wasn't paying attention and was happily skiing at the bunny hill. The experience got me thinking. There has to be a better way. Having run a software consulting company for over 20 years now, I took to solving the problem. It turns out it is not an easy problem to solve. Many have tried. We have succeeded.
Using radio rather than cell, we can cover vastly larger areas of ski hills than cell can. We can update with live locations every ten seconds and show live replays of the day, including runs skied and more. Devices like AirTags need to be within 30 feet of an iPhone and cell reception is spotty at best at most resorts.
The product is launched in the marketplace at Big White and Apex in the Okanagan and we have several more resorts ready to sign up for next winter. This winter we have hundreds of devices live at any given time and the customers are ecstatic. They don't say 'this is cool'. They say 'this is amazing and we will never ski without it again'. We have hit the mark with this product. We are finding that even teens and adults are liking it and they end up texting each other less because they can find each other on the mountain easier. We will be part of the season pass offering as an add-on at these resorts next year and all future resorts. We partner with the hills to access their marketing team and on resort staff to sell the product.
We are looking for funding to begin the expansion process and will be moving into a larger round in the next few months for rapid expansion. We have $210k left in a $300k post money SAFE with a $3 million cap.
We have large and medium sized resorts in negotiations and we have plans for Australia in the next 1-2 years and a large expansion to Europe in 2-3 years. With the industry being seasonal, the time is now to begin the expansion process.
Our CEO, Keith MacIntyre, has ran a software consulting company for over 20 years and has built products for countless companies. He is a leader, a technical founder, and has sales, finance, and marketing experience. skiKrumb is ready for rapid expansion and we're looking for investors that have connections and contacts in the ski industry preferably.
"I was working from home while my young daughter was skiing with friends. Just seeing the dot move... I knew she was safe and having fun" Ryan, Family of 4
"My young son went in the trees last year and didn’t come out. Twice. We had AirTags on them and they did nothing. skiKrumb gives me peace of mind if it happens again. My son loves the replays and it’s the first thing he wants to look at when he gets home. We never leave home without it". Michael, Family of 4
"We are visiting from Australia. Last year our son got lost. He had a cellphone but we still couldn’t find him. We have 6 skiKrumbs and love using it every day. I can see where my son is on the mountain and meet up with him without having to text. We’re going to SilverStar in January and will miss skiKrumb. Jodi Family of 6"
"I squealed with joy when my son left for ski club this morning. Just being able to see him moving makes me feel so much better." Ashley, Family of 3
"We got to the mountain late and decided to pick up the skiKrumb in the morning. Our son got lost in the trees for 20 minutes. We had a mesh network radio but it didn’t work, even less than 100 feet away. We thought he was struggling. He was fine, but we won’t ski without our skiKrumb." Karen, Family of 4
"This is our first season at Big White. We’ve never been to a mountain this big. I love the interactive map and that I can see all the runs!" Josh (teenager, door prize winner)
