Teddy(28) & Tiara(29) launched a successful striving e-commerce business, Tiara’s Crown Collection, in 2018 within the Health & Beauty Industry. Since then, has earned $879,000+ in revenue. Their customer based consist of 81% millennials. This was achieved through targeted social media marketing efforts and community involvement via fundraising, donations, and social events. Collectively acquired 280k+ followers across multiple social media platforms.

Since a kid, Teddy overcame a ton of adversity in the streets of Memphis, TN. With limited access to resources with no true community leaders, he figured enough is enough and embodied the true meaning of persistence/determination. Which is where he draws his confidence from. Knowing that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Conquer your fears and Carpe Diem!

-Since the coming of the legal drinking age; Teddy has traveled to Mexico well over 10x which he's made a tradition of exploring many regions throughout the country to learn more about the culture he quickly fell in love with Tequila. Commonly known as the family and friends bartender, whenever it's time to get together to celebrate or chill, he couldn't help but begin to wonder what it would be like to launch his very own Tequila brand with the customized flavor profile of his liking that he thought the world would enjoy!

Professional Experience
Teddy is a Global Talent Acquisition expert with 11+ years of experience in the recruiting industry working for companies like Google, FTI Consulting, and iCIMS. Areas of expertise include employer branding, talent attraction, workforce planning, KPI tracking, effective interviewing, candidate experience, operational efficiency, recruiting technology, recruiting strategy, and recruiter development and training. Exceptional with utilizing data/metrics to educate and influence talent decisions with leaders. Adept at partnering with key stakeholders to determine and execute organizational objectives and strategies that supported the culture, company direction, and business needs of organizations.


IMPACT
- Black Americans have never had equal access to the benefits of business ownership. This comes in part because historically Black Americans have been marginalized due to social and economic injustices. Though the Coronavirus pandemic caused many American businesses to shut their doors permanently in 2020, those that were black-owned were affected at a significantly higher rate. 41 percent of black-owned businesses were shut down permanently, compared to just 17 percent of those white-owned. Some key factors that play a large role in this disparity are lack of business equity and visibility.

-Black Americans have always experienced financial barriers due to systemic racism that prevents inter-generational wealth. While there has been an increase in black-owned business ownership in the last year, there is still a large gap compared to white-owned businesses. Those numbers are even more disproportionate in the spirits industry.

-Shadow Tequila would like to contribute to the improvement of the barriers that plague so many black business owners and aspiring business owners by utilizing black-owned businesses for our operational needs. Hence increasing their visibility and contributing to the circulation of the dollar in black communities.
