Raising $200k to start a Private Airline!

Have you seen the news about flying commercial these days? You spend hours making reservations online or by phone only to get to the airport, through security, and rush to your gate and learn that the flight was cancelled because of the lack of pilots and you only needed to get to Atlanta or Miami from Tampa. How frustrating!

Well, do you know what those pilots may have been doing? Flying their own plane because they too are fed up with commercial travel. If you frequently fly less than 1,200 miles each leg, you may be a good candidate to own your own airline or charter service!

After being asked to form an LLC and be a co-owner of a general aviation (GA) type of plane to use privately to fly my family and friends for vacation or just a quick hop to the Keys for lunch. I got the idea to use the LLC to buy aircraft that meet certain specifications and requirements, upgrade the avionics and other equipment as necessary to provide more value and then to either resell to someone else interested in forming their own LLC and helping them with that or possibly managing the LLC for them. Another option would be to start a Part 135 business and build a fleet of aircraft to use in the Florida region.

I realize there is a lot of research and sweat that needs to go into this endeavor and I am really motivated to learn how to do this and to be successful! I am a 23yr retired Air Force reservist with over 20yrs of experience in the Information Technology/Information Systems Security profession. I am a private pilot myself that enjoys the benifit of being my own pilot of my own airline. Equipped with well-defined communication, organizational, and leadership skills essential for spearheading programs from conceptualization to successful implementation in line with established requirements, timelines, objectives, and security best practices.
