Rent Off Road Equipment

Require $200,000 to enhance online customer experience and marketing, which is the bread and butter of our business.

1. Why RORE?

RORE presents an opportunity to be the first Canadian online marketplace dedicated to facilitating recreational equipment from Peer-To-Peer (P2P) and Business-To-Consumer (B2C).

The rental market has untapped potential. A simple search for ‘ATV rentals’ online reveals a lack of useful options for specific locations; a list of disparate and regional rental websites. All of these websites are difficult to browse and use, requiring actual back-and-forth interaction in order to facilitate reservations.

Imagine one SECURE website, with a 5 star rating system, where you could:

  • Read user reviews on rental equipment,
  • Search and browse a variety of recreational equipment rentals in any location across Canada, and
  • Filter equipment using options that you care most about, like horsepower, CCs, and more.

What if there was RORE?

In 2016, two US investment banks estimated the peer to peer sharing economy at US $50 Billion.

In February 2017, Statistics Canada estimated spending on peer-to-peer ride services in Canada and spending on private accommodation services both in Canada and abroad, totaled $1.31 Billion.

2. How RORE Works

The RORE marketplace is a secure platform that enables users to rent or list equipment online from peer to peer or business to peer.

Renting through RORE is simple and efficient – users can search for the equipment they want in particular locations, and book within minutes. All renters are verified by RORE.

Join Now

  • RORE is easy and free!  You create an account, complete our verification process, and start renting equipment.
  • To become a lister, simply upload your equipment pictures, details and set your rental price. Your listing will become available immediately.
  • Not sure what the listing price should be? No problem! RORE will provide pricing suggestions based on comparable equipment listed in your area.

3. Our Business Model

RORE is an online marketplace for recreational equipment rentals. The site facilitates B2C and P2P equipment rentals. It collects fees for connecting renters and listers in three recreational vehicles verticals; boats, snowmobiles and ATVs.

Payments
Payment is facilitated by a third party merchant services processor: STRIPE. Both parties to a transaction (renters and listers) create an online profile which requires ID and verification prior to payment.

Transactions
In a typical transaction, the lister sets qualifying renter parameters. The site filters options to allow only verified profiles to begin the equipment rental process.

Deposits
RORE may hold a security deposit from the renter in an amount determined by the lister. At the end of the rental period, the lister is sent an email to confirm the equipment was returned in acceptable condition. Listers will be given 24 hours to report any issues, after which they will no longer be eligible to initiate a claim and the security deposit will be returned to the renter.  The renter is required to accept and acknowledge a hold harmless disclaimer.

5. The Competition

RORE’s competitors include established local rental shops which are sparsely scattered throughout Ontario.

A simple online search for ‘ATV rentals’ reveals a lack of useful search results; a list of disparate and regional rental websites.

Equipment rental websites are difficult to browse and use, requiring actual back-and-forth interaction in order to facilitate rentals. RORE recognizes this opportunity and intends to entice these mom and pop sites to also list their equipment on RORE.ca as a marketing tool to drive additional volumes to their operations.

Within the context of online marketplaces, our closest competitors include similar platforms that are already-established in other verticals: Turo.com, RVezy.com, Dozr.com, Boatsetter.com.

Get to know our competitors:

Turo provides a peer to peer car rental platform where individuals can list their vehicles for rent. They have an insurance policy with Intact.

RVezy provides peer to peer RV rentals across Canada. They are insured through AON.

Dozr helps contractors rent heavy industrial equipment from other contractors while it is not in use.

Boatsetter, Cruzin, Boatbound, GetMyBoat are Southern US operations offering peer to peer boat rentals. Insurance for these P2P sites has been provided by Cruzin, Great Lakes Insurance, Falvey Yacht Insurance, and Lloyds of London.

Each of these operations has achieved immense success and growth in their marketplaces. As the first mover in the Canadian recreational equipment rental space, RORE aspires to achieve similar market dominance.

6. Maintaining Integrity

In order to rent or list, users must create a profile. Profiles are subject to management review prior to activation. The minimum rental age is 20 years old.

The following information will be gathered from users:

  • Photo of a valid driver’s license is required to become ‘Verified’, and will be kept on file.
  • Listers are required to provide a copy of vehicle ownership and their liability insurance slip.
  • Renters will be required to agree to a criminal record check disclaimer before renting equipment.
  • A Hold Harmless disclaimer must be accepted by both parties before processing a transaction.
  • All required safety equipment must be provided as part of an equipment rental.
  • RORE reserves the right to deny any membership, at its sole discretion.
