PALMETTO WHOLE HOUSE & BUSINESS SANITIZING
Hello, my name is Michael Gordy, Sr., from Moncks Corner, S.C. I am a 54-year-old,  recently retired New Jersey police officer, and I seeking $10K start-up funding for my Electrostatic Disinfecting  and Sanitizing business.

It's a fact, the Coronavirus is here to stay for an undetermined length of time, and governors around the country are developing plans to allow businesses to re-open, and to operate under strict guidelines, i.e., a minimum amount of patrons in the establishment, social distancing and most important continuous disinfecting and sanitizing. With this, I began to think. As we navigate through these challenging times, I foresee a lucrative business opportunity in the home and business disinfecting and Sanitizing service business. I then began researching on methods of disinfecting and sanitizing homes and businesses, specifically disinfecting methods to combat Human Coronavirus.

Two Methods Of Commercial Methods Of Disinfecting And Sanitizing:

The first method is to manually apply disinfectant utilizing a trigger spray bottle or powered sprayer to saturate commonly touched areas using a CDC recommended cleaning solution identified to kill the Human Coronavirus (COVID-19) and wipe with clothes. This method has many critical drawbacks. First, It's time-consuming. Depending on which solution you use, the contact time on the cleaning surface can vary anywhere from 1-10 minutes before you may effectively whip away germs or viruses from that surface or item. Second and most importantly, it would be up to the person to efficiently apply the cleaning solution to the necessary area and surfaces, increasing the risk of human error, in short, missed surfaces.

The second method is to spray CDC recommended cleaning solution identified to kill the Human Coronavirus (Covid-19), utilizing an electrostatic sprayer. This method deploys fully charged droplets of cleaning solution, evenly adhering to the surface or item creating a cationic charge which prevents drips. This method allows for the Cleaning solution to be applied to "ALL" surfaces in the home, office or business, i.e., doors, windows, window sills, walls, tables, shelves, knick-knacks, books, statues, phones, laptops, keyboards, cash registers, beds, clothes, shoes, sinks, appliances, bathrooms, bathroom fixtures, etc. The electrostatic droplets adhere to the contact surfaces within 3 minutes and a recommended cleaning solution such as Vidal Oxide. A more advanced product such as Bioprotect 500  Antimicrobial, will remain active on that sprayed surface or item for up to months. Critical example: if an infected individual were to sneeze or cough sending germs airborne when those germs land upon a previously treated surface, it will kill that germ or virus instantly. A product such a Vidal Oxide is 99.9% effective against germs, viruses, and most important today, Human Coronavirus. Lastly, the disinfecting process utilizing an electrostatic sprayer will drastically cut cleaning time.

Electrostatic Sprayer:

Works by changing liquids, i.e., cleaners, sanitizers, and disinfectants as they pass through a sprayer nozzle. This generates charged droplets that repel one another and actively seek out environmental surfaces, which they stick to and even wrap around to coat all sides.

Time Is Money:

From a business perspective, the service time required for a crew of two using a trigger sprayer and rags would only allow time for a crew to service 1-2 homes or businesses within a standard 8-hour workday, depending on the size of the home or business. This is largely due to the contact time required for the cleaning solution to be effective, depending on which solution is deployed, followed by the time it takes for that crew to wipe away germs. Lastly, the overall effectiveness is moderate at best, due to missed contacted surfaces and items, human error. The service time utilizing an electrostatic sprayer would afford a one-man crew to disinfect up to 4 homes or businesses or a crew 4-6 homes or businesses within a standard 8-hour workday. The electrostatic sprayer application covers all surfaces and items throughout the home or business, which makes for more effective and affordable treatment, and less consumption of the cleaning solution.

Under the name Palmetto Whole House & Business Sanitizing, I want to start a mobile sanitizing business, charging customers the following rate(s) to electrostatically disinfect and sanitize homes or businesses, offering two levels of service. Level I: disinfecting and Sanitizing, using a 99.9% effective germ and virus-killing disinfectant and Level II: 90-day, 99.9% effective germ and virus-killing disinfectant. Level I rates: $0.12 per sq ft. Homes and $0.24 per sq ft. Businesses. Level II rates: $0.18 per sq ft. Homes and $0.30 per sq ft. Businesses. In addition I would offer a Ala carte service, i.e., automobiles, boats, enclosed patios, she-sheds, etc.

I will manage the business., and my 21 Yrs. old son will be my Lead Technician. I will assist him on service calls, however my main daily responsibilities will be to provide quotes, sell and book services. I will pay my son $11 Hr.  Initially I will not draw a salary until the business is established, because I'm receiving a monthly retired police officer pension.

We reside in fast-growing Moncks Corner, SC, Berkeley County, within Foxbank Plantation. The Avg. age is 46 yrs., and the Avg. household income is $92,655 (2019 Census). Foxbank Plantation is a close-knit, family-oriented, middle-class community, were everyone knows everyone.
Residents at Foxbank Plantation regularly socialize every Thursday evening at the Elementary School for the Food Court Round-up, summer Sunday Arts & Crafts Market, Dog Park, etc. Currently, Foxbank Plantation has 1,606 occupied homes (Avg. sq ft. 2,297), 16 retail stores (Avg. sq ft. 1,125), a daycare (Appox. sq ft. 10,800), a Church (Appox. sq ft. 8,000), and a fire station (Approx. sq ft. 5,700). All retail stores are owned and operated by Foxbank residents. For my first course of action, I would target and distribute flyers throughout Foxbank Plantation and post an ad on the Foxbank Plantation Community Page, which only Foxbank Plantation homeowners and their family are privileged to view. I would promote the business as an additional service to the community to which I am a part of. Though the flyers and post, I would run a 30-day introductory promotional campaign entitled "Foxbank Friends & Family", offering a 15% discount To increase the potential for repeat business, I would offer customers a year-long package, whereas we would repeat their service every 3 months, at a 10% discount. Foxbank Plantation with it's 3,688,982 residential sqft. and 52,500 commercial sqft. offers a $566,472 pool of potential revenue. Additionally, the developers of Foxbank Plantation had recently cleared ground, and have begun construction of 200+ townhomes and 300+ apartments.

Within an 8-mile radius of Foxbank Plantation, there are 12 communities with similar demographics, Cane Bay, Fairmont North, Spring Grove, Pimlico, Moss Grove Plantation, Fairmont South, Stone Creek, Cypress Grove, Baron's Retreat, Oakley Pointe, Oak Hill and Strawberry Station, a combined total of 7,045 homes. With these communities, I will apply the same marketing strategy as with Foxbank Plantation. I would also target the over 50 daycare centers, all within an 10-mile radius of Foxbank Plantation. Lastly, within a 20-mile radius, there are both large and affluent markets such as West Ashley, John's Island, Daniel Island, Charleston, and Mt. Pleasant.

As previously stated, my son and I will  work the business. We have a 190 sq ft. office, 56 sqft. storage space with shelves for product and supplies, a dedicated business phone line, business email address, and uniforms, (Black polo shirt(s) w/embroidered company logo, khaki work pants, and a black jacket w/embroidered company logo). As you've already reviewed I've created a business website and I am in the process of designing flyers. I've created a logo design to be displayed on both sides and the rear of the work van, and have secured a vendor to reproduce the logo and install it. Although any vehicle with adequate trunk or hatchback space would be suffice, I want to purchase a small service van, for three reasons: (1) professional appearance (2) to display our brand and (3) to appropriately transport employee(s), equipment and supplies to service calls. I found a 2013 Ford Transit Connect work van in good condition, with moderate mileage for $6,999.

In addition to your knowledge  guidance and advice to succeed in business. I am seeking either an investor(s) to assist me in financing my business venture, for $10,000 in exchange for a 15% - 20% share of the net profit or a business loan. I'm in need of $10,000 to add to my investment, which will enable me to get started. Keep in mind there would be little overhead, due to the fact that I would be working out of the home.

Thank you, for taking the time to concider my request for funding my. Hopefully, you are as excited as I am about the possibilities of this business venture and would like to either assist me or be apart of what I believe to be a profitable business venture.

Respectfully,
Michael Gordy
