Business Overview:'Ohana Green Witches is a family based herbal inspired business based out of Kailua, Hawaii. It is owned and operated by three earth loving Green Witch sisters, Caroline, Karen, & Christina Gipple who found healing and inspiration for the start of this business through their own health journeys and experiences. ‘Ohana Green Witches is a women owned family-based business with a Green Witch passion. A Green Witch respects and understands the earth and all it encompasses, their love for plants is limitless and at the core of any Green Witch you will find a green heart. Focusing on a love for all life whilst, of course, honoring the divine Mother Earth.
Green Witches are the healers, the nurturers, and the givers of life on this planet. We are the protectors of nature with a strong emphasis on environmental consciousness and conservation. We believe the earth should be nourished not stripped. When we work with the Earth instead of constantly fighting against it, magical things happen.
Transformed by the healing energies of plants through their own self-healing journeys and seeking answers to their own illnesses that the teachings of sacred plant medicine transformed them and inspired their passion for herbalism and holistic healing.
Inspired by the herbal teachings they had received, they grew deep roots that would thrive into a beautiful tree of healing for all, to help conserve the earth and educate others on the medicinal powers of our plant allies. Being able to learn, understand, and feel the benefits of the herbs and how they help assist in healing our body, mind, and spirit is a truly remarkable gift that mother earth provides us in true abundance and we wish to share that message with the world. Our business was built out of the desire to share the healing wisdom of nature and holistic resources they had found by living a holistic and sustainable lifestyle. They had gained insight and healing from their own journey of supporting health from post cancer and Cystic Fibrosis symptoms by reconnecting to nature and the inner wisdom it provides through herbalism and other alternative medicine practices. It is our goal to build a sacred space of community where individuals can come to share, learn, heal, and grow together through our herbal farm community and wellness center. Currently, we are a small batch herbal company specializing in tropical plant remedies consisting of herbal extracts, vinegar shrubs, honeys, and seasonings. We also offer herbal education through our Herbal Journey Podcast, online workshops, and classes, but we want to expand our herbal education and offerings by creating a space we can gather in community for retreats, wellness workshops, and herbal education classes & camps for kids.
We are a trademarked member managed LLC herbal company, that began in Feb. 2019. Our original name was The Green Witch Apothecary as it started with just Caroline and Karen, when my third sister moved to Hawaii and decided to join our business, we decided to rebrand due to already other business name confusions during trademarking and the addition of our third sister. It was still only a year old, so we agreed that a rebrand wouldn't hurt us in this early stage still, so we rebranded to our current name and brand 'Ohana Green Witches, LLC. 'Ohana means family in Hawaiian, so we are a family of Earth loving Green witches.

Market Industry: Health and wellness is on the rise and continues to grow in popularity as more and more people are looking for ways to improve their health and wellness. They are looking for places to escape, to come to heal and retreat. They are moving toward more holistic and sustainable lifestyles that allow them access to whole, fresh, and organic foods, spaces to come into community to be held and supported for healing.
Herbal medicines and supplements have been growing in popularity in recent history. As of 2017, about 46% of the global herbal medicine market was attributed to Western herbalism. However, a further 36.6% of the market was also attributable to traditional Chinese medicines and holistic therapies during that same year. There are many available supplements that can be taken as pills, brewed as tea, applied to the skin or added to bathwater. Within the U.S., single herbal
supplements generate higher revenues than combination herbal supplements. The
dietary supplement market and holistic therapies in the U.S. is a multibillion-dollar industry that has the potential for significant growth in the coming years.
Vitamins and botanicals hold the largest share of the overall market’s value, which is not expected to change in the coming years.
The global botanical supplements market size was valued at USD 27.85 billion in 2019 and is expected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7.4% from 2020 to 2027.
Leaves led the market and accounted for a 28.84% share of the global revenue in 2019. Herbs and leaves are used since ancient times to produce botanical medicines. However, they are gaining remarkable popularity owing to the changing consumer trend of using natural products rather than synthetic ones. The leaf of several plants, including aloe vera, rosemary, thyme, basil, and clove leaves, is rich in antioxidants and also provides anti-microbial properties. This, in turn, has led to their extensive usage in the supplements and other industries.
Spices held the second-largest share in 2019. The shift in lifestyles and growth in the trend of exploring and experiencing novel foods has led to the growth in the demand for spices. Spice producers are coming up with novel and varied flavors due to changing consumer preferences, thus boosting the segment growth. Spices are the most extensively used ingredient among the other sources of botanical ingredients.
Our Products:We sell most of our products at farmer's markets, large holistic festivals, and on our e-commerce website at www.thegreenwitchallc.com. We harvest our herbs currently from local organic farms, wildcraft, or from the one's that we can grow in our small garden to create our products. For herbs, we can't grow in Hawaii we source from organic sources of herb vendors from the mainland. Currently, we have began growing some herbs on our friend's land and hope that these will provide a larger quantity of herbal supplies for us to harvest from in the future to expand our batch sizes and lower costs of goods.
‘Ohana Green Witches remedies are based on wise women/man traditions and sacred plant medicine practices that pay homage to the Green witch healers and ancestors before us while honoring and respecting the land and plant spirits that the medicine is made of. We specialize in formulating a variety of herbal products with an emphasis on local tropical, medicinal plants. Our herbs are harvested from local and mainland organic farms to ensure that our products contain the purest ingredients possible. We use sustainable practices, so no over harvesting, we give back to the earth, and we are eco-friendly through our packaging and process of making.
