I am looking to get funding for my animation project.  My name is Dylan Montalbo and my animation's name is called "Obscure Afterclass Trauma", The story  is A short 2D Animated horror-dark comedy film that foretells two best-friends living on the island of Guam, making a discovery that would be the biggest mistake of their lives. Two Best-friends from High-School, Cole Villegas and Marcus S. Drake is tasked by their Guam Studies teacher in locating a centuries old artifact that was believed to have been lost during the colonial days of the 17th century and was often referenced and spoken off during the occupation by the Japanese during WW2. Fascinated by tales and eager to earn the extra credits provided by their instructor, the boys take on the challenge to find the forgotten artifact. After hours of searching around, the boys found the object, it was in fact a skull with a cork at the back end of the head believing to have been housing miniscule objects sacred to the ancient people of Guam. As afternoon turns into night, the boys find themselves stranded at their school without much signal or signs of being able to contact the outside world. One of the boys, Cole, grows incredibly interested with the skull and opens the cork. Soon strange occurrences seem to happen all around  and then the unthinkable happens, Marcus, was suddenly attacked and injured by a walking corpse! Now running around like rodents, the two barricade themselves within their school room while being hunted by ghastly creatures and plagued by morbid visions, all caused by the skull artifact. Now the two must find a way to survive the night should they hope to live another day! Moreover, make it to their High-School graduation.

I want to tell this story specifically on a personal basis it’s something that I’ve always wanted to do ever since I was a kid, ever since I’ve been inspired by films and shows like “The Mummy”, “Evil Dead”, “Supernatural”, “Courage The Cowardly Dog”, this was a dream project culminating after so many years. My connection with the project is that I am the writer, director and voice actor for most of the characters. I myself also am the storyboard artist responsible for visualizing the action in the story as well. I believe I am the best person to tell this story because the basis of it is practically my own home, the setting, the background and characters are a huge reflection of my teen years at my actual high-school. Not to mention the actual location or the references that I’ve used, are places where I actually spent my education at. I was actually really lucky that I was able to get permission to use the school as the background for the story. My original intent for the story was that of a feature film, it was definitely going to be much longer and there was a lot more content that I wanted to show. I wanted to display a bit more of the day-to-day routines of the main duo, how different the day was compared to the nightmarish ordeal that was going to befall the duo. I also wanted to have a bit more characters involved in the film, most especially that of their teacher Fred Aladad, who gives a brief overview of the artifact that they are looking in the short, but in the feature version that I planned, had much more of a unique presence that made him stand out.  I especially wanted to add a bit more into the character of Marcus Drake. I know that in the short, it’s more on Cole Villegas character, but with the feature version I definitely had Marcus be entirely the main focus of the story other than the artifact itself. As of a matter of fact, I actually was going to add a bit of a dark backstory with Marcus, involving him being bullied by three other individuals in the story that later prompts him to almost commit a school shooting in the school, now that would have been one of the biggest topics that I would have had to tackle in the story, as I know how serious it is now that it has progressed thus far in our society today, but in the time that I was referring to, it was completely a rare thing. Still that part in the story does in many ways collide with the decisions that Cole was making in the story. Lastly, I wanted to add a real life character into the film, it was the founder of my high-school, Father Jesus Baza Duenas. I wanted this individual to appear in the film and actually play a key role in assisting our duo. However, due to the circumstance surrounding his demise, the sensitivity of it as well as the fact that I wasn’t able to ask permission from his descendants to include him, prompt me out of sheer respect not to include him.

the main thing is hiring the talent, I will be doing the main voice over for Cole Villegas, However for the other characters, I plan on hiring SAG or Union based actors that are of high caliber level. I am planning try to get legendary Voice Actors STEVE BLUM and YURI LOWENTHAL

Lastly, I will have this project be distributed, marketed and put on various film festivals for viewing. I was already able to attain a distributor for the film, but once it's competed will look for more who are interested.  I will put into consideration Tubi, Shudder,  Angel Studios and even Amazon and Netflix.
