We are a new Certification Training Center with 60 years experience. Next Steps is an authorized Cisco and CompTIA academy that focuses on cybersecurity and its underlying skills, networking, and systems. We focus on not just passing a certification but on true  Mastery level training. In addition to the curriculum provided by our associated academies, we aim to build a library of interactive content to teach key components and concepts in cybersecurity, networking, and systems.

A core component of our method is building community across our students, past and present. 

A fundamental aspect of our training is hands-on. To pursue this we are developing a flexible, effective, and cost-efficient cloud-based lab environment.  The current competitor in this market (cloud-based labs) is Cloud My Lab, which utilizes a costly always-on approach. We will be using a Google Cloud Platform with an intelligent spin-up spin-down model which will reduce costs to us and our clients.

We envision a tiered subscription model that includes a free subscription to a limited set of courses and resources, a paid subscription that gives access to more advanced and moderated courses, and a premium tier that gives access to mentors and more.

Founded by Laura Franks BA (Psych) BEd MSc (Computer Security and Stephen Franks C.E.T MSc (Computer Security) CySA+  We have a combined 60 years of experience in education and computer systems. We have built programs and courses for Centennial College, Durham College, The Chang School at Ryerson University, and  Lighthouse Labs in Networking, systems, and cybersecurity. In our careers, we have each been privileged to touch over 3,000 student lives.
