I am wanting to open up a Tanning salon that would be new to the city of Monroe. The area is heavily populated and has started to become very business driven over the past few years. A tanning salon has never been a place of business, and with all of the business growth and success this would be a great addition to provide to the ages 14+. Owning my own business has always been a dream of mine, and bringing a new business that we don't have in the Monroe, GA I feel that without a doubt there will be nothing but success. . I also feel that coming from working in the retail industry will help me in this business. Being in the retail industry and building such a close relationship with all of my customers, I realized one day that I  would like to do my own thing and open a place thats a relaxing, safe, and a clean environment providing the best customer service!

Walton County has an estimated population of 98k with a growth rate of almost 1.5% since 2021. However, this business would target a range of people from the ages 14+ men or women (must have consent from the parent and/or legal guardian if you are 14-17  years of age - Georgia Law). A benefit would also be that there are five high schools which surround the location of where I hope to open Mystic Sun which. This means that I would be able to provide many school students with the opportunity of having a job, especially those who are taking Work base learning (which is a school program designed for students with opportunities for instruction not only in academics but to explore guidance in employment and any educational goals). 

I have already been in contact with sales representatives from several companies and the leasing agent of the property. The space of interest is a open blank canvas, and has GREAT potential for where I'm hoping to locate. The location is about 1,400 square feet and would be equipped with at least 8-10 pieces of equipment. My idea is to provide our customers with the best tanning equipment and a spray tan booth. I will have different levels from 2-5 and allow walk-ins and EFT (electronic funds transfer) memberships with a $25 one-time activation fee at the time of purchase, so the card will be kept on file and bill every month. Lotions, stickers,  and eye protection will also be available for purchase. I have also been In contact and have done a demo with the POS company SunLync. This software is perfect for the tanning salon and enables us to handle customer information, billing, and control times being sent to the tanning equipment. A lot of research as been done on this industry and I'm ready to take on this new business venture!
