Michael P Hotz: DBA; Semper Fi, Counseling

I am Michael P Hotz, founder of Semper Fi Counseling, and I live in Sterling, CO. I am a USMC veteran and a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Addictions Counselor. I have over 27 years’ experience in the counseling field. I am a life member of the DAV and the VFW. I am involved in my church and currently serve as the church council chairperson. I have been married for almost 28 years to my lovely wife, and we have two furbabies, dogs. I desire to serve veterans, especially those of Northeastern Colorado and Southwestern Nebraska, from my office in Sterling.

It is my goal to offer counseling services to the veterans of this region. I will help in any way I can, but my primary focus has been on anxiety reduction, I am well versed in all mental health treatment. I am an expert with Motivational Interviewing and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, ACT.

My passions include spending time with my wife, riding motorcycles, hunting, and fishing. I am not specifically an outdoor person; I have my passions that happen to be outdoors. I do not care to hike or camp at this point in my life.

The services I would like to offer came from the effort it takes for a veteran of my region to get Mental Health services from the Veterans Administration. Currently, for a counseling appointment, the veteran must travel to Cheyenne, Wyoming, or Denver, Colorado, which is between an hour and two hours from where they live, attend their appointment, then drive back home an hour to two hours again. My service would make it so they were not “wasting” so much time on the road, which can lead to stress and frustration.

As with everything, there is a cost, and that is where you come in. If I could raise enough money to cover my essential bills, I could survive financially. I want to start at $100,000.00. To cover my bills for five years while I get the start-up going. There is no guarantee of a return on investment. The ROI would be helping veterans.
