Diversifying Culture in the Bridal Industry

Hi! My name is Lorraine Love. Born and raised in St. Paul. For the past 18 years, I have dedicated my time serving at-risk populations, including women and children of domestic violence helping individuals and families seek safety, opportunities to resources, and stability. I take pride in my community and have a vested interest in seeing this city flourish.

The past year has been a tough one for us all with Covid shutting down businesses and
ultimately leaving fewer options than before. The murder of George Floyd added to this need for our community to refocus, rebuild, and repair. We are resilient here in the Twin Cities metropolitan area and ready for newness on many levels. I am proud to help represent a sliver of that change by stepping up as an African-American woman and entering the world of small business ownership and presenting a niche offering that was glaringly absent even before Covid.

A while back I was bridal shopping with a friend and felt firsthand the frustration of being culturally underrepresented in the way of wedding attire. A woman’s wedding day is marked as one of the most memorable and special days of her life, and the wave of celebration begins with dress shopping. Realizing the unfulfilled need for cultural diversity in the bridal industry, this concept grew into La Noire Bridal:

"La Noire Bridal" is my business and brand. I am the owner and operator of the soon-to-be bridal boutique located in the Pioneer Endicott building in Saint Paul, MN. My vision is to bring LaNoire Bridal worldwide! (one bride at a time!) (one shop at a time!) I'm committed to being an establishment and service provider that respects and embraces cultural diversity in our bridal wear. Why? Because representation matters!

La Noire Bridal fills the gap in the bridal industry by catering to a diverse population of brides-to-be!
We are redefining the bridal experience for today's bride, identifying as a Black woman-owned business, where it is imperative that all brides feel welcome to our space, and have a fabulous experience! Our services are available to brides and their guests of all ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religious or cultural affiliations.

A one-stop-shop for brides and their entourage featuring dresses and gowns, shoes, jewelry, and other accessories to complete the look. Our guests can choose from a plethora of styles from cultures such as African, Hispanic, Somali, and Indian as well as traditional American to name a few. La Noire will offer a beauty bar where hair and make-up will be attended to as well. Situated in the historic Pioneer Endicott building, the glamorous environment adds to the allure of LaNoire. We welcome all.
