According to the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, as of 2012 (latest data available), 83.4 percent of patients in hospice and palliative care centers are over the age of 65. As this demographic expands, demand for industry services will likely also grow. Because people of color, and younger patients are traditional underserved, this allows for more Lake Hospice, LLC to serve more patients than its competitors. Another opportunity is the ability to have an inpatient facility that can serve as hospice and as well as respite care. Both having our own facility and serving people of color will give Lake Hospice a huge advantage over the competition.
