I created an app helping kids maneuver the difficulties of transitioning through each stage of development into adulthood by facilitating productive, candid and confidential interactions with their peers.
AN APP FOR KIDS CREATED BY KIDS!
Phone Application (iOS and Android)
¡nsite! provides users a way to connect and get real solutions for real problems in real time. The 7 I’s of success for the app: Invite, Interact, Invision, Inspire, Inquire, Instill and Involve.
The 7 I’s of ¡nsite!
- ¡nvite. Through events, concerts, and organizations, users are invited to create an account. Once created and verified, identities are encrypted and hidden from all users. Profiles are deliberately hidden, and users are not searchable.
- ¡nteract. Users are in control of the level that they want to interact. They can ask a question or answer a question. Every interaction on the platform is a one-way dialogue.
- ¡nvision. Some users will not want to interact or understand what the app is designed to do. Examples of questions and answers will be provided for users to envision the possibilities of their participation and how it can be a real resource in real time for them.
- ¡nspire. Sponsored ads will be strictly regulated to ensure that all messaging on the app are designed to inspire users. Ads could include videos and vignettes of inspiring users in the world. The goal is to highlight role models, encouraging messaging and create open mindsets to fuel users’ options of who they can be.
- ¡nquire. The app encourages inquiry instead of suppressing it. It is a safe space to ask questions that perhaps a child would not feel comfortable asking a parent, teacher, or even best friend or an adult would like to keep private from others. We acknowledge that unanswered inquiry could lead to unsafe decisions, behaviors or misguided beliefs.
- ¡nstill. Sponsored ads with Words of Hope. The end goal is for the app to instill a more confident outlook to equip users to handle the complexities of their everchanging world. We look to instill a healthy self-image, strong self-esteem and most importantly to make sure users know that they are not isolated or alone in the world; they are part of a community that cares.
- ¡nvolve. As users grow and evolve through the usage of the app, users will have opportunities to give back to their community in real life by connecting with one of the many non-profit organizations. Whether it’s a local cancer group, opportunities to bring joy to the elderly, or participate in events to raise funds to give to orphaned children, the
¡nsite! community will have opportunities for users to get involved in positive social action.
Phases of development
The potential of this application is on the scale of social applications like Snapchat and TikTok. The initial phase will be focused on specifically designed just the Chicagoland area as the initial test market. The initial target is to reach a minimum of 300,000 users before rolling out to larger cities on our growth timeline.
