Illuminote is digitizing and registering estate documents and agency relationships, protecting consumers with two-factor authentication and financial institutions with third-party administration.
The notary stamps and leather binders that traditionally legitimize and protect "wet signature" legal documents (trusts, wills, deeds, powers of attorney, beneficiary designations) no longer suffice. In fact, in a world with AI, 3D printers, and deep fake technology, their existence actually increases vulnerabilities.
Financial institutions know how vulnerable these documents are to fraud, forgery, and undue influence, and spend billions of dollars in human and real capital trying, imperfectly, to mitigate this risk.
And, as the Boomers pass away over the next 25 years, it is estimated that $84T will change hands, must of it through these "wet signature" legal documents.
Illuminote was founded by trust, estate, and elder abuse litigators, who have recruited a great team of seasoned operators as advisors. It launched the patent-pending Document and Agency Registry and Clearinghouse by Illuminote ("DARCI") on April 17. It is looking for $500k on a $5M post money SAFE to accelerate development and go to market.
