Hawaiian Island Shine Inc is a line of quality car care products (Private Label) that has been in business for 25years.
We have been a Vendor for Walmart that had 18 items placed in 6 Walmart stores in Hawaii in the past (12 years period). Sales were about $6,000 per year. per store with a 8.2 Turn Rate. Not currently in Walmart. based in Hawaii the whole time. I have recently moved to the Mainland.
Currently a vendor for NEX Hawaii, (about 20 years)
I have also tried Kiosks in 2 Malls in Hawaii for about 7 years (one Kiosk at a time) ending that run in 2017 with about $150,000 in annual sales.
I have made the switch from Kiosk to a 750 Sq Ft Store in Hawaii that is currently open which has done $110,000 in Gross sales in 2019
I have a National distributor.
This year I intend to promote the line in Car-shows and Racing events this year personally for the distributor.
What I have heard from big box buyers is they want a quality line of products that would give the 50 pts instead of the 32 pts they currently get. They get about 47 pts plus in current pricing structure from the Distributor.
What Walmart actually did in the 6 stores : They took out "Mothers "
Hawaiian Island Shine was the high end Line, Mequiars was the medium grade line, Turtle Wax and Armor All were the bottom end lines. Our 18 items had more shelf space than the other lines. This is what I expect big Box stores and Parts Store Chains to do also.
When I have talked to big box buyers what I hear right out of the gate from them has been "This sounds very Marketing"
Selling/Marketing "Hawaii" backing up the purchase with Quality Products.
The line is currently over 40 Sku's.
