The Project

The game is going to be an open world first-person looter shooter. The name of the game is Global Resurgence. The community will work together to take the Earth back one region at a time from the 3 alien races that have taken over. The first race is an alien race that has a culture that resembles ancient Rome, but they have highly advanced technology. Another is a collection of different bugs and creatures that roams the galaxy taking over planets and growing their colony. The last race is an alien cult that has access to mysterious powers that resemble magic, and they are trying to bring their god into this plane of existence. The players will fight back with newly developed nano-technology. I have been playing video games for 30 years, and have been designing this game for 10 years. I've been studying some of the greatest or most successful shooter games in the past decade. I am going to use a leveling system and looting system similar to Destiny as to help the players feel a sense of progression and the gaining of power. The players will have different classes to choose from that help them to play a role similar to the Battlefield series. This is to help promote cooperation amongst the community in combat. The open world is so the players will have some freedom to tackle challenges how they see fit, as well as to give them the space to work with. This initial game map will only include Europe, which it will be adjusted that the community will take from 6 months - 1 year to completely take Europe back. While there would be DLC or additional continents that would be added for the community to continue their conquest or liberation of the Earth from the invaders. Players will have plenty of different activities to do as well. The primary thing is for the players to fight in the open world to recapture regions from the enemies. They'll also be able to do missions, raids, and scouting missions that are a more isolated and structured experience. As well, players will be able to explore and find different things. They will also be able to help donate resources to different regions to help develop the capabilities of the region. This will also be a purely PvE game, or Player vs The Game World/Computer Enemies. This will help to focus the game and not have to work on balancing things for another mode like PvP or Players vs Players. This is also a community driven game similar to the latest hit Helldivers 2. Therefore, the community will have to work together and contribute towards the progress of recapturing regions. Which will help the players to feel like they are actually contributing to changes in the game, and to determine how the story of humanity plays out. There will also be other special events that the community will have the opportunity to contribute to that will create major changes in the story.

I have a majority of the game planned out. This includes items, abilities, progression, activities, vehicles, enemies, classes, and game systems. It would be difficult to list out everything as the Design Document is 270+ pages.

Business Model / Products

I have a team of 9 developers that I will be contracting to do the work on this project. The team has created a development plan for the design document that I have created that is 270+ pages long. The design document has almost every aspect listed and designed. This is everything from the different items, their values, the classes, and the different systems that the players would use. Their is also concept art for the different classes for the players, base enemy models for 2 of the alien races, and enemy vehicles. The initial development plan is that it will take 176 weeks or around 3.5 years to develop the game. During the development, updates will be given to the public as to assure the public about this project. As will, it will be used to sell merchandise to raise more funds just in case. Either, to further the development or to pay off the loan. The game would be sold at $60, which means it would take roughly 30000 sales to get the initial loan amount back. As well there will be micro-transactions to further increase the revenue of the product. The micro-transactions are planned to be from $1 - 10$, and will vary from different skins for the weapons, armor, and vehicles that players will use in combat. The DLCs for the different continents will be developed after the initial release and be sold from $10 - $20.

Customers

The customers will primarily be those who are into open worlds, first-person shooters, and looter shooters. The potential customer base to draw from would be from 3 million - 23 million players. The customer would mainly be from the game communities of Destiny, Battlefield, and other open world games. Which, the majority of the customer base and unsatisfied with the most recent releases or developments of their respective games. I understand this feeling as I am included in this customer base. I've come to the conclusion that this game would be a success as long as many of the pitfalls of different games and developers are avoided. I draw upon my 30 years of experience of playing video games, my real life experience, military experience, and education with classes in Cyber Security and a degree in Business Management with a concentration in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.

The Team

The team that I will be contracting has work on several small projects and have years of experience working with the different development tools and systems. The reason why I believe the game would only take 3.5 years, is due to the large amount of pre-production that I completed prior to the beginning of the development. This will help to avoid having to come up with or create the design for the different systems and direction of the game during development. There should only be a need for small changes or adjustments to fine tune the systems and values in the game. It will also help that I have a clear view and vision for the game, which will help to keep things on track for development. This is a pitfall that several major or high profile games have made that I will be able to avoid. I will also be working with and monitoring the teams progress to make sure the development is staying on track and keeping up with the timeline.
