Family is everything; which is why it is important to me to utilize my skills and talents in business to take care of my loved ones. My name is Melissa and I am a 32 year old small business owner and USC alumnus; where I focused on Business Finance. Tragically, my Father passed away last year. I have been heavily grieving this past year and doing a lot of thinking. I would like to set up my Mom with the ability to retire one day since life is shorter than I thought. I would like to purchase a $75,000 laundromat for my family. My Mom and I would like to run this business together. We have been talking about it for years. We have a solid plan to amplify profit at an existing Laundromat! We will do Wash n' Fold along with Pick-Up and Delivery. We already have a few businesses lined up for the Pick-Up and Delivery service. We would like to operate a chain of laundromats. However, we need to start with one! I am a Teacher and my Mom is a Mortgage Loan Officer looking to retire into the laundromat business. My Step-Dad has owned an Auto Repair shop for over 35 years. He is going to retire into this business as well and help fix and replace the machines. We found a reasonably priced laundromat for sale that has been operating since 1989. This Laundromat is located on a busy intersection and already has loyal customers. We can help it to reach its full potential, but first I need help reaching ours with any kind of generous loan or investment. We won't let you down!
The laundromat's expenses are currently $8,000/mo. It is breaking even without any kind of Wash n' Fold or Delivery Service running. The previous owner is moving out of the country. He stopped doing Wash n Fold during covid, which used to bring in an additional $5,000/mo. We will add a Pick-Up Delivery business as well. I already have a Software Developer working on the Pick-Up and Delivery site! No extra funds are needed for that. We will get the business making double within 4 months! The owner is asking for $65,000. There are about 50 washers and dryers with 12 out of order. The extra $10,000 would go towards repairing or replacing the machines, a new sign, and a weigh scale. It is all very doable and we are very motivated to make it happen! The owner would love to sell to us. We just need help with the funds from someone who believes in us as much as we do!
I currently run a teaching business. I teach Performing Arts at an elementary school in Fullerton, Ca. and I teach Acting classes on zoom all across the world! I am a celebrity private Acting Coach as well as actress and singer. My band is called Black Velvet. I love what I do, but there isn't much money in teaching. I also run a pretty big online retail store, www.gadgetgiftsdiscount.com, and a non-profit group for providing groceries to those in need. I would like to mainly focus on the Laundromat now.
My Mom, Cristy, has owned two car lots and a was a successful regional distributor for an Air Purifying product certified by the Asthma and Allergies Foundation of America. She has been trying to retire into the Loan Officer business, but interest rates have not been ideal for Hecm Loans.
My Step-Dad, Joe, owns a solo-run Auto Repair shop in Orange County. It is still going strong after 35 years!
Success is the only option for us.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. God bless and thank you for everything you do.
Love, Melissa Kirk
