Patented and tested idea to turn windfarm blades into renewableWind turbine sites built in the last 20-25 years are nearing end of life for equipment
Blades made of fiberglass and resin(hydrocarbon based) are not recyclable with currently accepted practices
Transportation costs are exceedingly high (up to $200,000.00 per blade) for disposal to land fills willing to take them
Landfills rapidly running out of space to take the blades Estimated 8000 blades per year are being retired and that number is climbing rapidly
Estimates place 85,000,000 million tons of blade waste in landfills by 2050
What we plan to do about it!
With an estimated 1.6 Billion dollars a year in transportation costs alone, it is hard for these entities to ship retired blades to landfills
Oversize load permits and heavy haul driver shortages compound the matter as well
Lack of landfills willing to take used blades further complicates the problem We propose to tackle the problem head on and close the loop on the green waste issue with respect to wind turbine blades!
What we propose to do!
Current state of the project: Low pressure Gasifier procured
Piece of composite material from a scrap blade sourced Material cut down to pieces small natural gas
