East Orange Bronze Shields Inc

East Orange Bronze Shields Inc. is a 501 c(3) nonprofit organization that strives to make a difference in the East Orange community. We believe that through the power of teamwork and collaboration, we can make our community a better place. With the help of generous donors and volunteers, we are able to provide educational programs, community events, and much more. We have an ambitious goal of raising $25,000 annually to help maintain our community programming yearly. 

Raising $25K to organize social events, concerts, sports tournaments and community development programs requires a lot of effort and resources. We can utilize these funds and resources to organize community-centric events, especially for those who cannot afford ticketed events. We can also support team members by providing trainings, conducting team building events, organizing fundraising events, recruitment and solving daily life issues of colleagues. Scholarship programs can be established to provide students with the opportunities to participate in various local tournaments and pursue quality education in institutes. These initiatives can bring communities together, create a sense of belonging, and strengthen the bond between people from different backgrounds. Furthermore, these events can be used as a platform to raise awareness about social issues, to educate people about the importance of social responsibility, and to foster collaboration among different groups.  

This aligns with our core mission of strengthening our ties with the community through engagement and philanthropic efforts.

The East Orange Bronze Shields Inc. works to enhance the lives of East Orange residents through education, community outreach and advocacy. We have a dedicated board of 9 police professionals who have a passion for creating positive change and making a difference in the community. The East Orange chapter of the Bronze Shields founded in 2022, was created in part as a result of local community feedback and a national trend toward reinvigorating community policing. It also was started with the vision of strengthening unity and camaraderie inside of the police department and serving as a voice for members who need it.  The Bronze Shields operates with membership dues and donations. Currently the organization has 40 paying members. 

This is the third Bronze Shields chapter in New Jersey. Newark Bronze Shields, Inc. founded the first chapter in 1957, and the Passaic County Chapter was founded in 2009 to include law enforcement agencies across that county.
