Our Goal
"A Robotic Helper for Everyone,
In Every Home."
The Problem
Up to now, the only robotic appliances in the consumer market are automatic vacuum cleaners.
We have grown up watching sci-fi movies illustrating exciting robotic helpers for people. Yet, this dream appears to be always just out of reach.
The Solution
We will create an inexpensive consumer robotic aid for regular consumers to perform mundane tasks like washing the dishes, cutting vegetables, and putting away groceries in the home.
This device will be of great help to the elderly and disabled. It will be a time saver for the rest of us.
The Product
Please see the product demo video here:
Market Size Estimate
There are 1.5 million electric wheelchair users in the US. If 10 percent of these users opt for a 2500-dollar robotic aid, that will be worth approx. 400 million dollars.
IRobot ships 40 million Roomba vacuum cleaners per year. If 1 percent of those users opt for a 2500-dollar home automation robot, the market is worth approximately 1 billion annually.
The annual worldwide market for robotic grippers is 1.6 billion. If we capture 10% of this market, that portion will provide 160 million dollars in revenue annually.
Why Now?
Several companies, e.g., Tesla and Dyson - have been teasing consumer robotic helpers recently. The public is socialized and excited about such a product. The market is ready!
Furthermore, the necessary machine learning cloud infrastructure is now available, allowing the hosting of essential AI services at a reasonable cost.
Competitive Advantage
Robotic hands in the market are a trade-off between strength, agility, and cost. Pick any 2 of 3.
We have developed robotic hardware with all three qualities.
The Business Model
We will manufacture and sell robotic helpers for around 2500 dollars each.
We will license the machine learning models needed to make them easy to use.
We will sell them to:
- Home consumers help around the house.
- R&D centers.
- Product developers for integration into new solutions.
- Manufacturers to automate their factories.
This business will have a margin of up to 30% per unit.
