The three goals of Designer Nanocrystals LLC are:
1.) Developing novel solution based Nanogap Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (NERS) substrates for the detection of ultralow levels of illicit drugs, pharmaceutical drugs, explosives, environmental pollutants, agrochemicals, proteins, bacteria, and viruses in artificial and synthetic body fluids to mimic actual bodily fluids for law enforcement, forensic, homeland security, environmental monitoring, and human and animal health applications.
2,) Develop novel and highly stable heterogeneous metal nanoctalysts for industrially important reactions.
3.) Design of new types of nanoparticles of different shapes and sizes for emerging and new applications.
My business model involves selling NERS substrates stabilized in artificial and synthetic body fluids, heterogeneous nanocatalysts, novel functionalized nanoparticles of different sizes and shapes stabilized in artifiical and synhtetic body fluids for a variety of applications. I plan to sell a wide variety of metal and semiconductor nanoparticles stabilized in artificial and synthetic body fluids and functionalized with different ligands. I also plan to prepare NERS substrates for the detection of a wide variety of analytes and plan to sell these substrates. My customers would be law enforcement agencies, homeland security, environmental monitoring agencies, medical and veterinary laboratories, private sector, and academic research institutions.
My website is https://designernanocrystals.com. I am looking for funds to start my laboratory and hire experimental and theoretical chemists with nanotechnology, spectroscopy, and chromatography experience and obtain equipment such as TEM, UV-Visible spectrometer, Raman spectrometers, HPLC, and zeta potential which are important tools for my research. I also seek funds to patent my inventions. I am a registered patent agent and I can draft patent applications and respond to office actions.
Dr. Radha Narayanan is the CEO of Designer Nanocrystals LLC. She obtained her PhD from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2005 in the field of nanocatalysis for industrially important reactions. She then did a postdoctoral research project in the area of Surface Enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) based detection of proteins, bacteria, and viruses. She then worked as an assistant professor of chemistry at the University of Rhode Island in which she prepared intermediate nanocatalysts (CSMNs) and compared the catalytic activity and activation energy to that of metal nanoparticles in solution and those supported on bulk materials. She then became a patent examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office. She then studied for the patent bar exam and obtained her license to practice in front of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). She then worked for two companies in which she drafted patent applications and wrote responses to office actions. She is now the CEO of Designer Nanocrystals LLC.
Right now my team consists of:
1.) CEO, Dr. Radha Narayanan
2.) Research Chemist, Ms. Joni Mia Turner
