Hello! My name is Heather and I am the owner of a children’s clothing boutique and toy store in a small Midwest town. We have been open over two years and I am now at the stage where we have grown so much that we need to invest in equipment , additional inventory and marketing. We started the business with $1000 cash and have never had a business loan with a bank. I have a low credit score due to student loans and income to ratio. I am looking for someone who can see potential in my business as we continue to grow and not just look at my credit score in paper. I have proven my business can and is successful. With many obstacles put in my path I am still pushing forward. I am looking for someone who is interested in continuing to grow my business and am looking for $50,000. We have over $120,000 gross sales last year.
here is some personal information and background for you.
I am the owner of a small Children’s Boutique in the Midwest. I am looking for the right person to understand my goals and why I need the help I am looking for. Herr is my story.
Two and a half years ago I opened a small boutique as a hobby and part time. I still worked my full time traveling job working 60+ hours a week and bringing in a nice paycheck. I was full force in life with my youngest 16 and me in my early 40’s. My two other children were out in there own and one gorgeous granddaughter was in our lives. I couldn’t have been happier with my jobs and the growth not my “hobby”.
Then the day came when I was coming home from a show and my ex husband was at my store. I knew something was wrong. He told me my oldest daughter had been found dead at her work. I remember screaming and falling trying to make sense of what had just happened. You see my daughter was a recovery addict with a 2 yrs old daughter. We thought things had been going well which was not the case. We found out quickly that we had no idea the truth behind everything and learned the harsh truth that my daughter had died from a herion/ fentanyl overdose. This lead us down a long path or frightening discoveries and we took my granddaughter into our home. It took 6 months to retain legal guardianship as her addict father thought the check which came with her would be nice the judge vehemently disagreed and gave us full legal guardianship. This fight also included over $13,000 in attorneys not to include the $12,000 funeral that was done modestly for my daughter.
With a little one back in the house again changes came quickly. I had to quit my amazing paying job and focus on building my “hobby” into my bread and butter and a store that would be able to start growing into a full time business.
I worked my tail off and builds the business quickly and with great support from family and community. Our growth was incredible to the point we had a opportunity to own a second store. I did this with vigor and excitement only to have all of my hard work disappear after determining our location and building area was ruining our product. We post over $25,000 in retail items with no way to recoup our product , lease , fixtures time and more. I was devastated and had to pull myself together and get back to our main store. I struggled this holiday season keeping the store stocked and ready. I don’t qualify for loans due to student loans with take any ratio to income from me. But we made it. Almost anyway.
A family member suffering from depression took a turn for the worse and I have had to turn time and funds to this. That’s what you do. I wouldn’t have it any other way. My family is everything to me not money. But you do need money to continue to grow your business.
so here’s what I’m looking for. I’m looking for a angel to help this 44 yr old business owner starting over with a little one build her business into something great. I don’t need a million dollar business. I want a business that I can live comfortably and not worry about the power bill. I want to be able to give back to my community and give my granddaughter a good education. In looking for a angel to donate funding so that I can increase my inventory, market and advertise in the area to continue building my business. We had a $75% growth in year 2!💜. I want to purchase the building I am in to secure the future of my storefront. ( small historical downtown In the Midwest. ) If you are this angel I would be eternally grateful. My total goal to be able to purchase the building, grow inventory and web sales, advertise and more is $120,000. That’s a huge goal and I’m probably dreaming but it never hurts to see who is willing to make someone’s dream come true who has the ability to help.
Bless you for reading this and I appreciate you taking the time to see what my story is about. 💜
