Waterfront Restaurant on Manasota Key in Englewood, Florida looking to expand.
Beachcomber Trading Post Restaurant has been open for almost a year and a half . The restaurant sits on 210 feet of seawall along Lemon Bay on Manasota Key, Englewood Florida. Manasota Key is a tourist destination that has a high season from October to end of April when all the northerners come down for the winter. We started a year and a half ago working out of a food trailer with 20 seats on the water. This past year we completed the 1st Phase of renovations in addition to a total remodel of the inside of the building. We added a large patio and deck area along the water as well as running propane for tiki torches and electric before laying the paver patio. With landscaping completed, we now have outside seating for 120 people along the seawall, inside seating for 40 people and front patio seating for another 30 people. Beachcomber Trading Post has a full Consumption on Property Liquor License. As we head into the next season, we are pretty well situated. Still working out of a food trailer for cooking we are running out of storage space, both dry storage, cooler and freezer. For Phase 2 renovation, we are looking for funding to purchase a large walk-in dry storage/cooler/freezer. We are also looking to expand boat parking along seawall, at this time we can accommodate 4 boats at a time. With additional pilings we will be able have boat parking for 8 to 9 boats. We would also like to expand the paver patio the whole length of seawall adding another 16 waterfront seats. We would also like to add 2 more large bathrooms to the 2 existing ADA bathrooms that we currently have. With this funding, we strongly believe we can have Phase 2 completed before this years season starts. Phase 3 renovations are planning to be completed after our 2025 winter season ends and we will be installing a full indoor kitchen replacing the current food trailer.
