Aunty’s Place (www.auntys-place.com) is an early learning facility with an Early Achievers 3 rating in a Title one school district that is fully inclusive for all special needs. We are open 24/7 to meet the unique scheduling needs of families throughout Washington State. Our goal is to raise enough funds to help purchase and build a 24/7 early learning center within the same neighborhood to not disrupt our currently enrolled families and to be able to increase our space, so no family is turned away due to capacity. Many families find it difficult to navigate childcare and early learning services due to the limited open availability and operating hours. We have been in business since 2010 and our 24/7 availability is what has drawn our families to us. We would like to continue and expand our services due to the high demand for quality and available care. My background is in Special education, and I also hold a nursing credential in the State of Washington. I have provided care in academic environments, personal homes, and various other communities. Our main demographic is single parent families, followed by low-mid income families, and families of color. We pride ourselves in being one of the most diverse care facilities within our neighborhood. We have fostered working relationships with four of our neighborhood elementary schools, two Early Childhood Education and Assistance Programs (ECEAP) within the Federal Way Public Schools District, and networking with Puget Sound Educational Service District (PSESD) to become an Early Head Start/Head Start facility, which will open funding and services for our special needs and low-income families. During the Covid pandemic, the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) provided us with a covid-capacity waiver. The waiver allows us to operate over our licensed capacity of 12 to provide care for up to 19 children. Now that our State and Nation is getting back into the workforce, it has driven the need for care even more. Every day I am fielding calls and emails looking for open spots, and unfortunately, I am having to turn families away because we are full. There is an enormous need for early learning facilities, even more so for those with unique needs. I am hoping that this request reaches those who have the same passion for working with our children, youth, and our community members. I look forward to hearing from potential Angel investors and welcome your questions. Thank you for reading our request.
