That Hoody Shop, a fashion ecommerce retailer, was founded in 2017. In our early beginnings, we sold products from other companies. In 2019, we began making our own creations. We currently have over 2000 products designed in-house by our founder, Anita Davenport. That Hoody Shop has become a store for the bohemian fashion maverick. We describe our style as hobo chic.
We don't believe in fast fashion and our business model is quite different from the average apparel maker. Each piece is printed, cut and sewn to order. We don't produce in bulk and we never warehouse. Our carbon footprint is therefore quite minimal. And, many of our products are created using eco-friendly recycled polyester. With access to contract manufacturers in the North America (Canada, U.S., Mexico), China and several European locations, we are often able to produce and ship as close to the end-consumer as possible.
In the future, we may try limited runs of some products to create cost savings using manufacturers based in the U.S. And a 12-month goal is also to open a flagship store in the Silicon Valley including a location at Valley Fair Mall (Westfield's most successful and profitable location worldwide). In order to grow our brand and reach our ideal consumer, we need funds to cover that expense which is roughly $5000 per month per marketing platform (Bing, Google, Pinterest) plus the cost of an ad agency.
