I am an entrepreneur that is obsessed with creating a game-changing online bridal business. It's called About the Box. We are an all-inclusive online bridal store that rents with an option to buy and uses WooCommerce. We rent/sell brides gowns, bridesmaids' dresses, mother of the bride and flower girl dresses, artificial flowers, men’s vest sets and wedding décor.
The way it works: the bride or couple will set up a discovery call, zoom or team meeting where the vision of the wedding is discussed. will then come back with three or four case scenarios of options to review and select to move forward.
We are not a traditional bridal shop. We are a one stop shop. Whether the bride or couple wants to go forward with the flat fee wedding planning service, customize and purchase a wedding bundle package or shop a la carte, the point of sale happens during this meeting. About the Box will then place the order according to the customers wishes, receive the merchandise from the selected vendor(s), and delivers the final customized wedding box to the customer, whether rented or purchased. Customers also have the option to shop Alacarte, mixing rentals and purchases. This delivery will be shipped to their homes. We are considered a retailer and the vendors and partners are derived of various designers, bridal houses and wedding décor suppliers. Please also note that If during the Wedding planning process, we discover that we don’t carry what the customer needs, we will shop for each bride. according to their vision and how they see their wedding day to be. This new inventory will be rented out and or sold as requested. Our goal is also to carry only the inventory and samples that are requested by each customer as it comes. We will also be building our affiliate partnerships by creating weekly social media challenges and designer or affiliate of the month acknowledgements to facilitate customer interactive services that keeps them engaged and active at no cost to the customer or the vendor. The challenges will be posted to bridal groups on Facebook as well as all About the Box social media platforms. We will also in the near future purchase and promote the event décor products with how to videos for the DIY Brides and planners on the website, YouTube and other social media platforms with a shop button to purchase a la carte if they chose.
In the very near future, we will also offer an app for our brides and couples. This where the investors will come into play! As the app is developed and builds traction, the app will not only be a direct link to our website but it will also serve as a marketing tool for brides to communicate their progress with others like their fiancé parents bridal party or sharing on social media. It will also promote the Challenges and Designer of the Month acknowledgments. We are confident that the app will increase revenue and conversion of website traffic into sales and bookings.
Our concept is very different from the traditional brick and mortar bridal salon and we are okay with being different. We offer an alternative solution to the old way of doing things without losing the catering to the bride and couple experience because we know how important that part of wedding planning can be.
