A Seemingly Impossible Dream

Raising $1.5 Million to Acquire a local Farm Market and Wholesale Nursery with the intent to expand community involvement and educational opportunities.

Former science teacher and lifelong member of the community, looking to purchase a wholesale nursery and farm market I grew up visiting and learning from. Customers from all over the region visit here for a variety of reasons. Fresh and local produce is available when in season in addition to a variety of other grocery options to include beer and wine (and due to local legislation, possibly liquor soon as well). This indoor farmers market only accounts for approximately 30% of the gross profit. The remaining comes from the outside garden center and wholesale nursery. Offering a wide variety of not just plants and shrubbery, but also other landscaping, aqua-scaping, and hardscaping necessities, and accent pieces. The wholesale nursery now works with a large number of local landscapers and community planners to help with landscaping and mitigation needs, with most of the plants and shrubbery now being produced on-site. The business has maintained profound growth, even throughout the pandemic and turbulent times that have followed.

There is plenty of room left for growth and expansion. There is only one local area that also provides both Spring and Fall Family attractions - including farm animals, hay rides, corn mazes, and the like - this is certainly an area available at this property and ripe for expansion. The current owner has been asked many times by different schools and organizations about whether they would consider these activities and unfortunately, he has simply not had time to carry them out. As a former teacher, I see many avenues that are prime targets for not only business expansion but community involvement and educational opportunities. Spring and Fall family activities are at the top of the list - a perfect way to not only provide our local friends and family with a go-to location to have fun, but also learn and engage while they are there. Based on rough estimates, there are another easy six figures capable of pulling in through these activities, not to mention the exposure.

The $1.5 would be as an equity investment for a negotiable 20% stake. This is more money than I have ever dreamed of asking someone for, but I know beyond a shadow of a doubt, my business partner and myself are more than willing and capable. I currently occupy the role of Director of Business Operations for a privately owned company responsible for over $25 million in sales last year and am currently on track to break that record this year. My business partner currently manages and owns part of another farm market several hours from this location and has both the knowledge and experience to fill in the gaps I may possibly have.  I would love to talk with you further if this sounds like something that would be of interest to you. Thanks for your time.
