My name is Mrs. Cheryl Brown. I am presently the sole owner and operator of “4Ever Memories Events, LLC. “. 4Ever Memories, LLC” is an Event Planning Business and has been in operation for the past 3 years in Huntsville, Alabama. However, I have over 25 years of experience planning and organizing many events in my former hometown of Miami, Florida. Some of these events include, Social Events- ( Parties, Family Reunions), Corporate events- (Board Meetings, Open House) , Industry events - (Conferences, Meetings) and Special Events - like (End of Year Party, Black Tie Balls and Community Givebacks).
My desire is to operate an Event Venue. I would like to have a “One Stop Shop for all Event Needs”. Presently, I provide my clients with the decorations and the organization of their desired event. I do so by providing luxurious tablescapes with floral centerpieces, table linen chair covers, and other various decorations which are already in my inventory. Currently, when organizing an event I utilize family and friends to help setup and take down all decorations and equipment. In the near future it is my goal to employ 2 full time, and 3 part time employees to assist with the needs of the events as the market grows.
One of the problems I have encountered in my industry is the lack of affordable venue spaces. I am excited to say that (Huntsville, Alabama) in which I live has been ranked the second best place to live in the US according to “U.S.News and World Reports 2023-2024”. For the third year in a row Huntsville, Alabama has been named one of the top 3 places to live in the United States. Also, based on the influx of people and companies relocating to Huntsville, Alabama, there is a need for more event venues. There are many residents living here in Alabama that are implants from other States and Cities, as opposed to those born and raised here in Alabama. For that reason, smaller event venues are needed.
After my research it is apparent to me that smaller scaled venues in which I am trying to create are very difficult to find. However, they are in high demand. Huntsville already has dozens of other venues that are capable of having 300 and up, in one venue space. My desire is to capture the market of smaller groups. In 2022 there were a total of 2,782 weddings here in Huntsville, Alabama This is based on weddings alone which does not include other social, corporate, industry and special events. There is a need for other event venue spaces with capacity for 100 people or less.
Through local conversations I have discovered that more event venues are needed, as Huntsville and surrounding areas continue to grow. With my professional experience as an event planner, leasing the event venue will afford me the ability to remain in one location while securing, and storing the business inventory and event decorations for easy access for event setups. Having a permanent location is imperative for the surrounding communities to become aware of the business, what it offers, and how it can be used for their needs. In addition, it gives the clients the ability to see the exact space that is being offered.
Many Huntsville event venues only offer the event space but not the decorations. So, my desire is to bring the full package of Venue and Decor to make that Forever Memory that my clients will treasure over and over again. With the right funding I can offer an amazing “ Venue; Decor and More”. Another common complaint that I have heard by many clients is that the venues they have viewed were too big and/or too expensive . Often tables and chairs are not available with the venue and must be rented and delivered through a different company which is an additional expense to the client. Then the decorating of the venue is left to the client or they must hire another company to decorate for them. Again at a cost and the same goes for any food provided. This can be very stressful for a family or business coordinating these important events.
I have already hosted several events. My business name is already being advertised along with some pictures of my work. I hosted a grand opening of my business on February 18, 2023 where I had entertainment, music and food. The response from those in attendance was very positive. I was able to line up more business from this event as well. Having a permanent business location will help me increase my clientele and it will allow for people to find me easier. So, even if they forget the business name they will know where I am located.
This will alleviate the current situation of constantly changing event venue locations.
What does leasing a venue look like for me? The location will be fixed. It will have office space to meet with potential clients. There will be a selection list with examples. It will be fully equipped with chairs, tables, 2 restroom spaces, and a kitchen with a warming center and pantry. In addition, 2 microwaves, counter prepping areas, ice machine, and a commercial kitchen sink. There will be appropriate lighting, many electrical outlets and the outside will have curb appeal with an eye-catching business sign, outdoor lighting for safety and back door access for deliveries and supplies.
I have been searching and looking at commercial buildings for lease with anywhere from 1800 to 4800 square feet of space. The most recent building I have inquired about is centrally located with lots of traffic. and signage as well. The building I looked at was 4720 square feet and the cost is $12.00 per square foot. This venue space does not include utilities, licensing, or insurance. It is a prime location and is located in a neighborhood that lacks space for events and community gatherings
I’m asking for $50,000. This amount will help me to secure this building as my first choice, or another one if it should become unavailable. I will acquire the licensing and insurance needed. I will also set up outside and inside cameras for security, possibly a little remodeling and cosmetic care inside the building . I am confident that after 160 days of being in business, the business will have built finances and will be growing strong while also building community and corporate alliances.
One way that I will obtain capital is by renting out the venue space to clients looking for an affordable venue. I will be offering different packages at different costs based on the needs of the events. As an example some of the packages might include: Tables, chairs, chair covers, chair sashes, table covers, and napkins. I plan to continue marketing my business through google, my website, instagram, an influencer, google ads, and on the radio station. When the building has been secured and all remodeling completed, I will host a meet and greet where the public will be invited (including the Chamber of Commerce) to tour the Venue to see it fully decorated with various themes. I will have food, refreshments, and music.
By being fully equipped with everything to make a 4Ever Memory, whether it’s a birthday, retirement party or wedding, my company will capture and own this untapped market. Who would not love the convenience of having a stress free “One Stop Shop” experience where everything is handled in one place. This is how my investors and I will win. With the building, the upgrades, the expert event planning and designs, and a grand opening. This is just the beginning!
